Lystrup A frequency analysis of each instrument over time shows musical pitches, volume contours, even the harmonics of the instruments. This video is of the music from Erik Satie’s Gymnopedie #1. Separate parts are colored differently. The Oboe melody is orange. The Keyboard accompaniment is blue gray. At the end a synthesizer joins to form the reddish clouds. Only the moving 3D shapes are made from the music. The ground represents silence. A line of yellow light marks where the music is currently playing.
